Pretty Giveaway

I'm going to launch this beautiful summer weekend with a giveaway.

Just because.

And with something really pretty too.

I found just the thing over at Fat Quarter Shop and they are very kindly letting me give one of these away to one of you ...

This oh-so-pretty "Twice the Charm" fabric roll of Robyn Pandolph's Love and Liberty collection includes 22 - 5 1/2" x 21" pieces ... plenty enough to make something fresh, summery and ... pretty!

If you'd like a chance to win, just leave me a comment telling me what your summer sewing project is.  If you don't have anything on the go you can mention either the last thing you finished or what is on the top of your crafting to-do list.  Comments close Tuesday July 16 and the winner will be announced Wednesday 17th.

Good luck and have a lovely weekend!

I just finished piecing two very different diamond quilt tops so...I'll be sandwiching those and quilting them most of the remainder of this summer. Of course, I like to start another top while I alternate with quilting. Wouldn't your pretty fabric be perfect!

OOOH, this is BEAUTIFUL fabric! I'm working on tons of things! Between batches of jelly, making pickles, canning beans and freezing corn, I'm trying to sneak in sewing time to complete 3 quilts I've got in the works, plus I'm working on the Deck-ade the Halls Christmas quilt from Fat Quarter Shop. Summer is a busy time around here in GA.

I finished my patriotic quilt with 100 4" pieces set to look like a billowing flag. It was fun keeping the bias edges in control. It'll be a festive 30 x 40 flag to hang July 4th. I also finished a wonky log cabin in shades of peach to burgundy. My 1st modern quilt. Quilting will be concentric squares. I'm 2 projects closer to finishing 6 by year end. .

gorgeous fabric!!! I'm about to set up a queen size quilt on my quilting frame for hand quilting. A quilt for my guest bedroom. Let's see how many more quilts, of my many quilt tops, I can get quilted this summer. I only do hand quilting. I love it.

Oh how I wish I could be working on something. We got caught up in the recent flooding in our area so since April 18th it's been frantic trying to save what we could. Things are coming along and I tried to use my sewing mahine for the first time yesterday. Something hit it in all the moving around, it's good an broke. I'll be trying some hand work, probably paper piecing in the rare moments till all is back in order. And these are so my colors. Hey something good just has to happen. We've burned up 4 wet dry vacs and if I never see another one it will be too soon. I'm too old for this craziness.

I am working on a very simple 9-patch quilt but it is taking longer than it should because of all the other things going on in summer, like gardening and yard work and vacations. I want to make some more strawberry pin cushions soon because I gave away some and they are so fun and easy to make. This fabric pack looks beautiful!

I love Love and Liberty and would be thrilled to win some.
My summer projects have been primarily focused around my soon to be born grand daughter, Caroline. I've made crib sheets, swaddlers, and covers for the changing table mat, all from a variety of wonderful quilt fabrics and now, I'm using the left overs for a quilt for the rocking chair that belonged to my grandmother. I remember rocking in it over 60 years ago, she used it to rock my father, and I rocked all my kids in it.
I also have a variety of quilt related projects I'm finishing, and I have a Temecula Quilt Co. little quilt to do this month.
thanks for the give away

I have just finished a red, white, and blue quilt for my son currently serving in the US Army. I am now returning to a project that is also very dear to me - Hand quilting a Sunbonnet Sue that my mother, now 90, said that she pieced when she was a "kid" - probably around 1935 ... Talk about vintage. These are truly labors of love !!

So needless to say, I've done a lot more helping and a lot less sewing. Some new pretty fabric would make my summer! Thanks for all your updates. I love reading your blog! Have a great weekend!!

Hubby and I are involved in ministry pretty much all summer. So, most of my sewing is to supply my Etsy shop. I do hope to do some sort of project with my granddaughter. Just not sure what it will be. I hope to make my daughter a picnic/beach quilt sometime.

Hi, I enjoy on reading your blog, which give me lots of inspiration and ideas. Just wish I could sew as much like you! I am working on a Hawaii wall hanging with hand appliqué, basing on Japanese designer Cathy's pattern. Hopefully this can be done within 1-2 months. It is winter here in sydney, so quilting makes me feeling warm!

Enjoy your day!

I have to start by saying how much I love your Farmers Wife quilt! It looks so pretty in the fabrics you chose! Inspiration for me to start one someday.

My summer project is to finish my Berry Picking quilt by Crab Apple Hill. The one that I started at a local quilt shop with your help. I am almost finished. In doing this quilt I have discovered that I love embroidery. Also, I am working on my Dear Jane blocks.

Thanks Kristyne and The Fat Quarter Shop for the opportunity to win this gorgeous yummy bundle of fabric!

Ohhhh that's so girly and pretty. Love. I've been wanting to do one of Camille's Swoon blocks. I've slowly but surely been teaching myself to sew (how dare work keep getting in the way!) and I would love to make just one Swoon block to hang in my crafting area. So pretty! I'd actually probably end up carrying it in my purse so it's available for my viewing pleasure at a any moment.

I'm so excited to have time to quilt and work on my projects while off for the summer (I'm a teacher!) that I'm having trouble sticking to one project! I feel like I have ADD! I'm working on a stash-busting Scrappy Trip Around the World quilt to give to a foster child who will attend my husband's summer camp, as well as a hexie project, a hand appliquéd wall hanging, hot pads for gifts, a lunch bag for "Back to school" and I'm trying to cut up my stash to use for scrap projects so I can reduce it so I can buy more fabric that might actually go together!! Whew! I only have a month left!! Oh, and I am planning a "Storm at Sea/Ocean Waves wall hanging for our living room.
