Pretty Giveaway

I'm going to launch this beautiful summer weekend with a giveaway.

Just because.

And with something really pretty too.

I found just the thing over at Fat Quarter Shop and they are very kindly letting me give one of these away to one of you ...

This oh-so-pretty "Twice the Charm" fabric roll of Robyn Pandolph's Love and Liberty collection includes 22 - 5 1/2" x 21" pieces ... plenty enough to make something fresh, summery and ... pretty!

If you'd like a chance to win, just leave me a comment telling me what your summer sewing project is.  If you don't have anything on the go you can mention either the last thing you finished or what is on the top of your crafting to-do list.  Comments close Tuesday July 16 and the winner will be announced Wednesday 17th.

Good luck and have a lovely weekend!

Over 4th of July weekend my 5 yr old grandson said that he needed a new "cold" quilt because the one he has now his toes are peeking out. (crib size) So I started doing a jelly roll race quilt with the help of you tube and my husband. I had enough of Alphabet Soup from South Seas to use for it so now my stash could be considered "low". ha ha! This pretty fabric would be just the thing to make my remaining stash "not so lonely". I do not have a blog but have included my email address if that is okay. Thanks

July and August are birthday months for me, so I have been hooked on making needlebooks. They are so fun and I am happy I have a few to make. I love the fabric you are giving away! Just my style :)

I'm almost done with four holiday table toppers!! It's a good think that they're almost done because they're a gift for a wedding next weekend!

Love looking at your lovelies! I have three things going on right now. I'm doing some on each every day. Not my usual technique, but I'm trying to mix in things I REALLY like doing with things that I SHOULD be doing.

I'm FMG in QAYG style some blocks from Block Lotto. I'm making a Circle of Squares quilt, lots of white and brights. Maybe that seems dated to some but I love using white and my leftovers and leftovers from friends and the white ties them all together nicely. These two projects are ones I could spend hours on each day,

And I'm finishing my Row A Long quilt. I love the block patterns that Lori Holt provided. I'm not so happy with my workmanship. This is probably the least flat quilt top I've ever made. It would be so easy to just let it go to the UFO pile!

Cheers!

I'm trying to finish my first quilt. Right now working out where to baste it. It is queen to king size. Looks like my Dining Room floor will have to do. Then what design to sew it with.

Gorgeous, lovely fabric!! My main sewing project this summer is creating a signature quilt for an aunt and uncle. We are having a family reunion next month honoring their 60th anniversary, so I am asking all the relatives to write a note to them, which I am putting into a quilt. I hope they love it.

I don't get to sew much during the summer, my 9 daughter being home slows things down. Currently I'm trying to finish the binding on a quilt that I'll hang in my sewing room.

This summer my top priority project is to finish my hand pieced, full-size bed quilt. I WILL finish this, even if I have to re-watch every BBC costume drama on Amazon ( oh, the hardship!). This fabric would be a perfect addition to my quilt as it is all soft summery florals. After that--either a low volume hexagon or a hand pieced low volume Farmer's Wife.

Hi! I am currently in the process of making a table runner for our kitchen table using a charm pack from the "Happy-Go-Lucky" fabric line by Moda. I just completed a little vinyl pouch from a tutorial I foind on "Crazy Mom Quilts". I am very new to quilting and even stopped sewing for years due to raising 5 adorable kids and working full time :) Now that all of those adorable kids have their own families, I am taking up sewing again and loving it! Your blog is one of my FAVORITES! I love the beautiful fabrics you choose and all your designs! Someday, I want to make that little hexie purse you designed. Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks again for such a lovely, emjoyable and helpful blog!

What a lovely bundle of fabric! I am hoping to complete a king size postage stamp quilt that I've been dragging my feet in doing. It's all in cottage/shabby colors and speaks of summer to me.

I am currently working on "The Star of India", pattern by The Quilted Fish, and then I am going to start on "Starwberry Social" from the Pattern Basket. It has been raining a lot in my part of the world this summer, so I plenty of time is spent inside !

I just this week pieced a really pretty lap sized and table runner for my family room. I used Seascapes fabric and the colors just scream summer beach house. If I can't make it to the beach I can at least create an atmosphere! Love Robyn Pandolph by the way! Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh, yummy giveaway! We both know there're way too many thigs on my summer sewing list. You wanna have some examples? Okay, here you go: quilt-along from Camille's Simple Retro quilt (I'm pretty good at that ... so far;-), July Schnibble, Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt (not started yet!), actually quilt a few quilttops (and NOT collect them in a evergrowing pile), make a flower wallet for my mum's birthday in august (still time, right?), and so on and so on. I think my summer need to be a year long.
Have a wonderful weekened, Hildy

Oh my, the fabric giveaway is so pretty.....I would love to be making that into a quilt. It has been SO hot here in Nevada that I have not been quilting lately but the next thing on my list is to make my girlfriend (who is turning 50) a quilt. I made one for her when she turned 40 also!
Have a wonderful weekend.....

I have a list -- growing longer by the minute -- of gifts to make but it seems I have been primarily working on aprons so far this summer. I am drafting a pattern for a smock-style apron inspired by my great-grandmother. And I have a quilt at the free motion stage that I have been stalling on completing ... fear of FMQ!

Ohhh! This fabric is sooo pretty! I`m dedicating my summer to finishing up projects - binding, etc. and learning new skills - English Paper Piecing and hand quilting!

I have several summer sewing projects:
I am making two Swoon pillows and a quilt for a wedding. My travel project is hexagons that will be made into a table runner. I am also trying do get some progress on a Sue Daley table runner, and I will do some hand sewing on the July block of the 2013 Aurifil Designer of the Month.
In addition to all of that, I also joined a sewing project while on vacation in the US: I have made a Tornado Disaster Relief Quilt for the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes in May. The quilt top came together in one day, it is now basted, and hopefully it will be quilted this weekend.

I have been working on Farmer's Wife Sampler blocks as well as Bee in My Bonnet Row-Along. I am having so much fun with both of these. Yesterday I completed a Schnibbles quilt top as well. My Daughter, Tanya has been an inspiration to me. She teaches and uses the Summertime for quilting, and has so many projects that she does, and I want to try to do some of the same projects too! I love the new happy fabrics out. We live in a small town and the quilters here as well as our quilt shop do little to inspire me, so I love these quilting blogs for additional inspiration!

My summer project is my first quilting project ever! I am paper piecing a diamond quilt. I figure that is the best way to learn to quilt...by taking piece by piece and stitch by stitch.
