sew deerly giveaway

Well hello!  How is your week going so far?  Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm not.  But then again I never am.  And yet Christmas still comes anyway and things always work out. :)

I've been doing a little pre-xmas shopping for myself ...

These pretties came in the mail yesterday.  When I emailed my friend Kerri at Sew Deerly Loved to tell her the fabric had arrived and how much I love it, she offered to do a giveaway for you, my dear readers!  I'm very excited for one of you to win this bundle of sweet Japanese fabrics. :)

Japanese, ATSUKO MATSUYAMA, 30's Collection, Fat Quarter Bundle of 14

To enter this fabulous giveaway to win 14 FQs of Atsuko Matsuyama's latest fabrics, simply leave me a comment saying what Christmas sewing (if any) you are doing, already did or plan to do (no one will know if you don't get to it!).

Comments close Sunday Dec 22nd and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday Dec 24th.

Oh, and one more thing ... everything over at Sew Deerly Loved is 20% off right now so if you're looking for a gift for someone (like maybe yourself, possibly?) check out her shop.  I never leave empty-handed!

I still need to sew a quilt for my mum ... and I didn't even start it yet, yikeees! But then maybe she's happy with some new potholders? And I need to sew some tags. But there's still time left, right?
I love Kerri's shop and her fabrics, so beautiful!

Great giveaway! Thank you. I have stitched up 25 zippered pouches. They little ones with a swivel clasp. So far everyone has said they have liked them. I have also made pillowcases for my son's friends. I would like to make 2 more things - table runners. Not sure if I am being too ambitious.

Tomorrow it's going to be 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit!) in Melbourne. I have the champagne cooling in the fridge for our sewing group tomorrow night - plus cherries & strawberries and a little piece of Christmas cake. And lots of little Christmas hexies which are almost finished for the Christmas tree! Thank you for your lovely blog and the giveaway. And a very Merry Christmas from hot Australia!

Hi! Thanks for the giveaway, such a pretty bundle of fabrics! I love all the fabrics that Kerri has on etsy! This year I've sewn a lot of project but my favourite is a family of reindeer I made from a pattern by Anne Pia Godske Rasmussen. I'm now paper piecing a snowflake, a pattern that I found at craftsy for free and that has become my first pp project. Thanks again!

I planned to make Christmas table toppers for my co-workers to give out tonight at our Christmas dinner. Got all the tops made (7 + 1 spare), but last night I realized that I wasn't going to get all the quilting & binding done in time. But I'm way ahead now for next Christmas. Thanks for the chance to win.

I made gift bags with tags, tree decorations & gloves (knitted) for my friends and a tea cosy for my Mum and some bunting for my sewing room. I have just found out that a friend has just had a baby girl so I am going to make her some bibs for Christmas though I will have to be quick about it in order to get them to her in time for Christmas. I was going to make myself a table topper but the bibs will have to be first on the list.

Thank you for the lovely giveaway chance and a very Merry Christmas to everyone.

I am trying to find just the right fabrics to start my daughter's wedding quilt. She was married in September, with all the guests signing a muslin patch. I need a Muse!! I'd like to make some bookmarks as gifts and I made a drawstring bag. I've been trying to use my Singer featherweight as much as possible...I named her Eleanor cuz she was born in 1947 :) Thank you and Sew Deerly Loved for these lovely fabrics!

I am always have 2 weeks with pay at Christmas so I always plan way more than I can finish. I will be working on hand quilting the last block of a wedding quilt I started a few years ago. I am also working on crochet hexies for an on-going afghan. I have to finish a Sabbath tablecloth for my daughter-in-law's birthday before the 21st and also some new curtains for my pantry.

I am sure I will play with a few other projects in between as my sewing room is always filled with unfinished projects. Winning this fabric would just be wonderful.

My latest Christmas sewing is making a tree skirt for my son. His ex-girlfriend left behind a skirt splattered with glitter that he just hates! No room for hate at Christmas and no need for constant reminders of a past girlfriend, I say! So, I am making something new and filled with love for him and his tree.

Oh I so love the little deer fabric. I am making little stuffed critters this year. I have a deer story for you. I had the heartbreaking experience of having to put down a much loved dog. A couple days later, on the way to work, I hit a deer. All those emotions came flooding back and I was a crying mess. I promptly called the police to report the car/deer accident and told them I didn't want to kill anything else. Shocked, the police officer questioned MAME? not knowing I was referring to animals. I told him I just hit a deer and just had to put down my dog so I don't want to kill any more. He was very kind and understanding now that he understood we were not discussing a case serial murder. LOL

I need to put the binding on the lap quilt I'm making for my grandma who has Alzheimer's and is in assisted living. I'm very new to quilting and it's a sobering honor to make something like this for the matriarch of the family.
I'm also making monster themed rag quilts for my nephews to go along with some monster themed books to try and encourage them to read. (They are 5.)

Kerri at Sew Dearly Loved has a darling little shop! Anyway I made doll quilts for both of my girls, and one for my granddaughter. Wish I could put a pix in here so you could see them. Anyway I am working on one for me today. I would be thrilled with the fabric. Merry Christmas Krystine! PS. I looked for you on Instagram...and didn't find you. Are you not on there?

How sweet of you and Kerri (I love her shop!) to have such a beautiful giveaway!! This year I'm creating dolls and softies. My inner child is having so much fun! There is a Clara doll, (from the Nutcracker Suite), a couple of tiny felt dolls-Ragamuffin and Harry Potter, two Tilda Angels, then a Christmas Mouse and Bear, oh and a felt Christmas rabbit too!! These fabrics would make wonderful dresses for my dolls, and also my hexie addiction LOL!! Thank you and have a Very Merry Christmas xx's

I was going to make a quilt with snowman fabric for my Mother this year, but since we just moved life has been crazy and I just didn't get to start it in time. So I'm *definitely* planning to have it finished for her next year.
I was also going to do some embroidering but, like I said, life has been crazy and this year just wasn't the one for handmade gifts. Oh well.
I sort of feel bad for entering another giveaway on your blog, so if I DO win (by crazy chance) I plan to give this fabric to a friend as a gift.

I love Sew Deerly Loved - my first purchase was back in 2010, I still remember the fabric, though unfortunately it is in a half assembled WIP quilt in a basket somewhere.. whoops!

My Christmas sewing is so limited this year. My sister's baby shower is a week and a half after Christmas, so all my sewing has been going towards the shower! Table runners, banners, I'm all sortsa busy.

Thanks for the giveaway!
