sew deerly giveaway

Well hello!  How is your week going so far?  Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm not.  But then again I never am.  And yet Christmas still comes anyway and things always work out. :)

I've been doing a little pre-xmas shopping for myself ...

These pretties came in the mail yesterday.  When I emailed my friend Kerri at Sew Deerly Loved to tell her the fabric had arrived and how much I love it, she offered to do a giveaway for you, my dear readers!  I'm very excited for one of you to win this bundle of sweet Japanese fabrics. :)

Japanese, ATSUKO MATSUYAMA, 30's Collection, Fat Quarter Bundle of 14

To enter this fabulous giveaway to win 14 FQs of Atsuko Matsuyama's latest fabrics, simply leave me a comment saying what Christmas sewing (if any) you are doing, already did or plan to do (no one will know if you don't get to it!).

Comments close Sunday Dec 22nd and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday Dec 24th.

Oh, and one more thing ... everything over at Sew Deerly Loved is 20% off right now so if you're looking for a gift for someone (like maybe yourself, possibly?) check out her shop.  I never leave empty-handed!

Just finished a memory quilt for my mom who is 85. Did a variety of blocks and applique blocks, set them on point. It just tells their story of her and dads life through the years. She is going to love it.

I am making Lori Holt's Bee Block to go with a honey dispenser that is in the shape of a bee hive. The blocks are being turned into square table toppers. All my presents this year are going into quick sew fabric bags rather than paper gift wrap. Having a blast sewing this holiday season. Off to Sew Deerly Loved to see what I can't live without.
Love your gift tags, may have to find time for them also.

I just finished 30 reversible tote bags to give as gifts to the supporters of a small ministry my hubby and I have. I also finished a pouch for my best friend and am working on two pairs of jammie bottoms for my daughter. I need to make a journal cover for my granddaughter and a pen roll, yet. I planned on making a new work tote for my daughter, but it will have to wait. This giveaway is lovely.

I am frantically working to finish all the quilts I have started as gifts. I have completed three, pieced the tops on 2 more that now need to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. I have one more in progress that is about 20% done with quilting. I made superhero caps for all the little great nieces and nephews this year and pillowcases for all the big kids. It's been a busy few months since I always find myself starting in November instead of earlier in the year.

I have finished a lap quilt for my MIL and a tree skirt (but it's square so I'm calling it tree pants). To be finished: pjs, in sizes 2, 6 and adult L. Adult L nightshirt. My own quilt, which is an ugly christmas sweater quilt. And six placemats. Looking good so far!

I am currently working on pajamas for my sisters. They are very tall and find it difficult to get pants that don't shrink too much on them. I am also doing placemats for my mom. Wonderful giveaway.

I just finished the granny square quilt yesterday, its a big relief that I finished several days before winter break coming - since I love to send that quilt for my daughter second grade teacher. It's kind of tradition for me that every year I make 1 quilt for Christmas present for teacher..

I am about to start a christmas tablerunner as a gift and a thank you. Mostly thanking her for looking after my children last Thursday so I could spend the last hour ever with my Dad. He sadly passed the next day. I'm so grateful I was able to spend this time with him that I think making something by hand will help her realise how much it meant to me.

I haven't been working on very much because my machine was in the shop for a spa treatment. To pass the time I have been working on some cross stitch....I love your holiday tags. I was hoping to get my machine back in time to make a few small gifts but I don't think that is going to happen now. I do plan on starting my first throw size quilt after the holidays. Beautiful Japanese fabrics! Thank you for sharing!

I gave one completed quilt to one my autistic son's caregivers last night. I am on the home straight in FMQ ing a second one for one of the others. I don't know why I have left them until the last minute as Christmas is on the same day every year, and I have plenty of warning that it is approaching.

I am finishing up the last of the 12 trees I made from Amanda Murphy's Modern Holidays book. I made mine the size that is in the book so they are smaller than she has in the picture but they are sweet! I am also helping my 10 year old daughter with a tumbling charms quilt she is making for her brother. It has flannel squares from pajamas made by grandma and regular quilting cotton for the sashings between. We are almost done with sewing the blocks, then I get to cut them apart (100 of them!) and we will sew them all together. I guess then comes the quilting. It should be really cute when it is done. Thanks for the beautiful fabric giveaway. K-

Great fabric!! I am actually doing a little Christmas sewing. My little girl just turned 1 and I made her a quilt for her dolly bed. You double inspired me on this one because I had 2 'first's' on it. I EPP hexagons for the whole thing and then I put in 1 plain white hexagon and embroidered an 'S' for Sarah on it. It turned out adorable!! Thanks for the inspiration! How is your hex quilt coming? it is sooooo beautiful.

I also have a few handbags to make, but not sure if I will get them finished on time- may turn out being totes.

Thank you for the chance to win these fabrics, they are so cute. I have just discovered sew dearly and I am hooked. this is where i will be spending my Christmas gift money.

Love your blog.

I finished the Deckade the Halls quilt from Fat Quarters Shop in plenty of time for Christmas but I think the tree skirt and cushion that are in progress will have to wait for 2104 as I still have two client quilts to quilt.
