Note to Self #5

Never use misguided optimism when parking a minivan.

For example, "I probably won't fit, but maybe I'm wrong!" can end up looking like this ...

Apparently, the laws of physics don't care if you're late picking up someone from the airport.

(Again, reeeeeeeeeally sorry Honey!)

Notice the super awesome job I did getting TWO body parts instead of just one?

Even the police officer who filled out the damage report was impressed.

"Go big or go home," right?

How about, "Just go early you nimrod so you can take your time finding a bigger parking spot ... "

This can happen to all of us! As long as it's just a scratch and your car is still running it's not soo bad, right?;-)

Yes, that's what I keep telling myself to make me feel better ... ;)

Oh, stink! I'm so sorry! :( And the classic quilter's argument starts in your mind...do you know how much fabric I could've bought with that money?!!!!!

Damn, that hurts! Been there done that in my Volvo station wagon because Volvo parts cost MORE than most. It's like repairing a BMW without the fun or style of a BMW. ;0

Yep, everything is weighed in relation to how much fun you could have quilting with the money!

Oh, no!!! Sad face needed for sure :(

Oh, oh! That is my biggest fear now that we got rid of the 15 year old van and I'm driving a 2011 Prius! Scared to death of parking lots!

Yikes....well at least no one was hurt. I wonder if they can paint the car PINK when they repair it...that would make you happy. :)

Sorry about the damage - but your last line is what we all think. Your "commentary" on the situation kinda made me laugh.

Ouch!! Hope your honey wasn't too upset. I feel your pain. I tried to be nice and fill up hubby's truck. Trying to back into the lane to get gas, I didn't see the 4 foot concrete poles placed to protect the gas pumps. No good deed for sure.

blessings,
jilly

You poor girl! Been there done something like that. Took our pickup truck through Hardies drive through once with our son and made a sharp right turn ... forgetting there was a steel post just the height of the passenger door. Boy did our son laugh! Wasn't to good for the truck!

Hi Darlene!

Yes, I believe laughter is the best medicine for sure. ;) This wasn't very funny at the time. When my brother saw me in the airport I was shaking & pale and he knew something bad had happened ... But I can laugh about it now.

And for the record, my husband was VERY lovely about the whole thing. I think he's getting used to me & my parking shenanigans.
