pinterest pouch - round two

Over my sewing career I've developed preferences for both construction methods and finishing techniques.  So when I try out a new pattern I often want to change things about it.  I love how this little pouch goes together, but the flap was a wee bit flimsy for me.  So I just added a piece of batting inside the flap - a quick and easy fix.  I like this version better.  So does my other daughter.  The next one I make will be for me ... I hope.

Here's a link to the Pinterest tutorial again, and I got the fabric here.  (There is still time to enter my Simply Sweet Fabric giveaway!)

It's amazing what awesome tutorials and inspiration we can find on Pinterest. And I'm like you, I see a pattern or picture of something and want to make it and usually end up tweaking something along the way LOL.

Love this little pouch, and the handmade tag on the front :) Cindy

Oh, my! I could not wait to try a few of these pouches when I saw the first one that you made and I also added padding in the flap in the form of fusible fleece. Now you have done it again! Your creations are so inspiring! I wish I had some of those little cutsey prints that you have...I would go make another right now :)

So sweet and pretty. But how do you read the instructions? I would love to make some of these but is there a way to translate the instructions? Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.

So pretty - it reminds me of a little girl's dress with the white bib collar!

I can't believe I ended up making two of these little critters after I saw them on your first post. Usually I store away ideas and never seem to get to them. But I was determined to FINISH something--and when I did my hubby said, "Why don't you make the curtains." Go figure. I was feeling like I accomplished something but didn't let that deter me. Quick and easy was what I needed to spur me on to bigger things. I ended up squaring off the bottom (those little triangle sew across thingys) so I could put in a spool of thread. FUN! FUN! Thanks for the tutorial reference!

I absolutely love every piece of fabric that I have seen in your projects! So dainty and sweet! I like the pouches but don't understand how you turn them once they are sewn. Time for me to make a Japanese friend who can read the pattern! Lol

Love the cute little pouch! I really need to make some--lots of uses for them.

Did I miss the fabric give-away? When I clicked on the link, I got this:

Anyway, thanks for the tutorial!
