The Wonderfulosityness Quilt
Ok.
It's official.
I want to be buried with this quilt.
'Cause to me, this is what heaven looks like. ;)
And you know, I jammed a whole lotta firsts for me into this project:
- first 100% (ok, ok ... 90%) scrap quilt
- first low volume quilt
- first "modern" quilt
- first quilt I made from Amanda Jean & Cheryl's crazy awesome book "Sunday Morning Quilts" ...
What in the world took me so long?
I know. I was waiting for this book to take me by the hand and show me how to do all that ... and STILL make what I consider a "pretty" quilt.
My sweet, pink top-stitching thread. :)
Here's the back.
I used small "Lakehouse" yardage pieces from my stash that I guess were just waiting patiently all these years to be employed. I'm very proud of myself for not just throwing a bunch leftover "uglies" on the back ... which is what I usually do ... and then forever regret.
And the happy pokie dottie binding ...
So.
When are YOU going to make a low volume scrappy quilt?
You know ya wanna.

wow! It's beautiful! Who knew that scrappy could be so pretty!
It's beautiful!!! Can you give some tips on scrap quilts and this one in particular. I have attempted scrap in the past and they end up looking like something my cat threw up!
So thrilled for you that you have opened your pattern co.!!!!! Next - a book!!!!! Love, love, love your stuff!!!!!
I love your quilt and your blog too:) I work at a funeral home and at time quilters will have a beautiful quilt topper instead of a fresh flower grave spray, I always love to see this and it saves $!
I am going to have topics up this book!
Kathy in Mi,
Such a pretty pretty quilt, reminiscent of the "shabby chic" look. I love the dotty binding.
Seeing that lovely quilt has really brightened up my Monday morning.
It's sooooo pretty! I am going to order that book today. My problem is that I'm a new quilter with barely any scraps. If I wanted to make something similar to yours what fabrics do you suggest I purchase and how much of each? Does it matter much if the fabric is high end or not or should I not mix them?
can I be buried with you? lol gorgeous colours, very inspirational!!
it's utterly fantastic!!! congrats on so many firsts in one quilt!! :)
last night at a trunk show i showed my low volume quilt and people actually gasped in awe. what music to my ears!
no doubt about it, low volume quilts are super special. yours is the cherry on top!
I have made the Sunday Morning quilt, and my only regret is I should have made it bigger. I loved it when it was done! Yours is gorgeous : )
