and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, too! may it be filled with all good things, along with a happy and healthy New Year to boot! L-o-v-e your Bruno Mars video -- super cool! cheers!
I always admire your hand embroidery work. Do you use a particular backing product when doing hand embroidery? Do you back with muslin or ?? I have used a very light fusible fabric, but I can no longer buy it and was looking for a new way to "hide" threads, etc. on the back of my hand embroidery. Thank you!
Thank you for your great question. Backing for my embroidery - I don't usually use anything. Although I usually stitch on very light fabric (whites mostly), I tend to be very careful about not carrying my threads across long distances on the back and I also don't usually use super dark threads. I used to use a lightweight fusible interfacing, but sometimes it would pucker - disastrous! I've found most other backings just make it harder to stitch.
However, a friend recently introduced me to a product called "PrestoSheer" and I quite like it. I've only used it a few times on small projects, but I've had good luck with it so far - hides threads and doesn't pucker. :) Hope this helps. :) Happy stitching! k
