Sawdust & Feathers

How do you know your house build is going veeeeeeery slowly?

Birds are moving in.

After a quick email/photo consult with my sister (some of you already know about her and her thing for birds) I found out that our guest is a Rock Pigeon.  She's up in the rafters of the top floor - my future sewing room.  I have a feeling we'll be calling it "The Nest" or some such thing when we finally move in.

I think you should make a wallhanging for your sewing room "The Nest"!
Hopefully things will speed up on the housebuilding!

'The Nest' sounds great you should make a minquilt with it and hang on your sewing room door. And perhaps get a cat;-) Hildy

I love it! I think you're doing your sister a favor. Now she can just hunt for birds in your house instead of taking you on road trips. And I just re-read that owl story - I think it's one of my favorite tales that you've shared with us.

I like it--The Nest--with a story to go with it.. Sorry, but I do get your sister. I must have missed that snowy owl escapade when it happened. My mom was Canadian and when we visited the prairies of Saskatchewan, I loved it. Your photos were a nice re-visit for me. THANKS!. I'm not a birder, but I LOVE it when I see a cedar waxwing in the backyard--a big rarity. One visited last week after 3ish years--right on a branch of our blueberry bush. I'm not all that anxious to share many of those berries, but a few visits, a few snatched berries; it's a good thing.

Oh, but look at all those great studs and plywood. I'm so jealous! It has been a long time since I got to see a house of mine being built from the ground up. It was so exciting! Can't wait to see your sewing room reveal when it is all done!
