Since When Is Practicality a Prerequisite?

It really doesn't matter to me if this little macaron is useful or not.

It's just so ... so gosh darned cute!

I've seen these adorable, diminutive zippered pouches all over Pinterest and have been dying to make one, but searching for supplies (like this tiny zipper) was a little tricky.

Then I found kits.  Available here!)

Sometimes there's just nothing like a great little craft kit ... or four ... to solve all your problems.

Couldn't pick a favorite color so I got one of each.   (I made my least favorite color first in case I messed it up.)

So now I can cross this pretty.much.useless.but.who.really.cares. about.that.sort.of.thing.anyway hand stitched macaron off my crafting bucket list.  :)

Besides, satisfying an emotional need is practical.  Some would even say theraputic ... essential to life as we know it.  Ergo, this macaron is arguably the most practical thing I've ever made.

(I could have been a lawyer.)

So cute! I have several projects lined up for the summer and fall that are on my bucket list and "just because" ones so I can try them.

Thanks for sharing. Love your blog!

It`s so cute, totally something that needed to be done. I love those sort of things, the ones that you love making but can`t find a single reason for making, except of course that you loved making it!

Das sieht ja süß aus und so niedlich. Gefällt mir gut. Dein Kissen ist auch wunderschön geworden, so tolle Stoffe und Farben und wunderschön gestickt, Kompliment.
Ganz liebe Grüße Annerose

I read an article not too long ago about the benefits of hobbies. They help us live longer. Luckily for you, the amount of extra time we get is not related to the size of what we create:) That little thing is absolutely adorable. I'm sure we'll see it in pink next?

where did you find the kits? I totally NEED to make a macaroon tape measure case. I'm sure it would be excellent therapy for me.

I "need" one too. I have some frozen macaron from France in the freezer but there's only the coffee ones left. And I don't like coffee ;(

Maybe you could store a macaron inside it? LOL

Ooh, la, la - j'adore les macarons!
These are so adorable and their purpose is grand. Perhaps a family hairloom ring can be presented inside? I have a gorgeous diamond and emerald one, but it isn't up for adoption (insert cheeky grin here).
BTW, you done good, Girl! That Wanda pillow is beautiful and the stitching really added sweet character! What a delicious choice of fabric (no surprise there-lol)

I am also tempted...they look fussy, Are they? So adorable though, I LOVE little projects like this! Even if it is a bit fussy, I think I will have to try it!
Thanks for posting,

Were they difficult to make? They are so cute because they are small but being small might make them difficult to make? Would you buy the kit again? ;p

Hi! I found a DIY tutorial on Craft Passion:http://www.craftpassion.com/2012/01/macaron-coin-purse.html

I found this kit in chocolate, yellow, and hot pink at this website: http://www.theclothparcel.com/shop/japanese-sewing-kits-felt-macaron-zippered-pouch/

Hope that helps people who are looking to make their own.
