Strawberry Heaven

When I started making my strawberry pincushions, I found a few shades of green felt in my cupboard.  One was perfect for my batch of "Strawberry Fields" fabric berries.

And there was this other green - a favorite shade of mine.  I wanted to use it for a strawberry, but had no clue what fabric would go with it.

So I waved the green felt in front of my stash and quickly settled on this very old Laura Ashley print called "Secret Garden".  I've had it forever ... if you count a few decades as forever ... and I do ... when it comes to pretty fabric I love and don't want to use.

Eeeep!  I love this one!

I also found a lovely pink felt for the blossoms and used white beads for the centers this time.

I seriously recommend making a strawberry pincushion.  Best craft therapy going.  Heather Bailey has a great pattern, if you're interested.  And again, here's the Pinterest tutorial I used to make my flowers.

If you're still not bitten by the strawberry pincushion bug, I'm going to give it one more try ... there's a final batch waiting to be seen.

I am loving your strawberries! That print is so pretty, I can understand why you didn't want to cut into it. But I think the results were worth it:) I also like that ceramic berry basket. I just might order one.

They're so cute! I must make some for my mom's birthday...she loves strawberries and made an embroidered strawberry & blossom bedspread once. How did you attach the beads to the flower centers? Did you add a small piece of felt?

Love your work as usual, Kristyne!

Oh,too sweet! Just the sweetest project ever! you really have brought these to another level! What are you using to fill them? They l;ook too smooth for crushed walnut shells. I hope Heather Bailey has enough patterns in stock! A real day brightener!

You know how you felt when you saw Amy's strawberries - that's how I am feeling now after seeing yours. These are absolutely drool-worthy. I simply have to make some myself! I love how you matched the felt colours to the fabrics too, perfection.
Big swoony sigh..... I want some. Now. A few questions for you - any chance you can show us what shape to cut the petals for the flowers? Yours are perfect and I want to make one just like yours! Also - - need to order Heather's pattern - is that the same one you used - just like Amy? :o) Tooo cute - and love the Laura Ashley....

OMG I love all of your strawberries. I would love to make some, but I don't have any of that delicate, pretty, romantic fabric. Anything you make is so soft and feminine. I love it all! Thanks for sharing.

Your strawberry posts Finally got to me...I picked up the perfect green felt at the quilt shop the other day. I have Joanna's strawberry pattern...do you think I can adapt it to have a more rounded bottom or should I spring for the heather bailey pattern?
