What do you do when you're watching Downton Abbey?

While I'm hanging on the edge of my sofa waiting to find out what happens to poor Mr. Bates, I make these.

Little ones.

Lots and lots of 'em.

I have 144 yo-yos so far.

Don't ask me what I'm going to do with them.  That is totally, utterly and completely irrelevant.

At least I hope it is.

Otherwise, this is just the latest in a long chain of evidence that I'm going cray-cray.

So is stacking them & taking their picture, I suppose.

I won't tell you how many tries it took me to figure out that 6 yo-yos were the most I could stack before they fell over ...

or how many photos I took.

Hope you have a nice weekend - and that you find a little cray-cray time for yourself too. :)

Hi Krystine! You are going to laugh but I have been making white yo-yos too for a bit. I love them. They're stuffed in a project bag. Two years ago I finished a red and white yo yo quilt (my design) and love it, so I'm making more. They are addictive! I have to look for Downtown Abbey on my cable. Everyone seems to luv it. Happy stitching and gathering!

For me, it's knitting! Yummy soft yarns are cozy...perfect for Downtown Abbey! And Lucky V (greenrabbitdesigns)!!! Are our neighbors across the pond enjoying watching us squirm? The British make good television - Downtown, Doc Martin, Doctor Who - just to name a few! Happy Weekend, Everyone! :)

Hands down I'm sitting on my sewing machine while I'm watching Downton Abbey. Okay, it's more like an audiobook for me;-)
Have a wonderful weekend, Hildy

Doll pillows to go with the quilts I just finished is my idea of mundane. I would not, absolutely not, do anything while watching DA. I fear I will miss some small item. I did miss Sunday night because we were out and I am disappointed but I will buy the DVDs and catch up. I bought my daughter season one and two - I have the books.

I've got a quilt in the quilting frame for watching television and Downton Abbey is one of my favorites. I do worry about Mr. Bates !

Haha. I think you are absolutely funny. Can't wait to hear what all the yo yo making was for!

And oh, downton abbey. I'm waiting until season three will come out around here!

HI! I emailed you awhile ago and asked you about your BEAUTIFUL purple Petit Fluer fabric. Well, I just wanted to tell you that I found it!

Love your yo yo's and I won't spoil it for you but I know what happens to Mr Bates - when I'm watching tv I often fiddle with bits of left over yarn and crochet all sorts of bits and bobs, my favourite at the moment are tiny hearts x

They're so pretty though! Like little dollops of whipped cream:) We're trying hard to wait until season three comes out on disc so we can watch it all in a mega session. It's hard to wait though, esp. when I see little teasers like this!

Yes!!! Yo Yo's are my fave project when I am on the phone or have some down time and need to not think! Yours are beautiful - inquiring minds are wanting to know what they are going to be... something very pretty I know coming from you! I just have mine all in a crystal biscuit jar so it looks like colorful candy.... HUGS! (I still have not seen that show... I know I know... one of these days, though... I will get to it!)

Your little white yo-yo's are not cray-cray, but I'm sure are leading up to some great project you have in the back of your mind! I, too, am an obsessive fan of Downton and eagerly await each new episode...I do love Anna and Mr. Bates! But does he have a dark side?????

January 27, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDonna

Three years ago, I started making 1" yo yo's for a coverlet. Never dreamed
I'd make sooooo many.
After 2600 of floral and colorful yo yo's, I started making the white ones. They're white on white floral. When I got to about 900, I decided to start trying to actually put some of them together. Sewing them together was easy, but deciding what order to put them in started making me nuts.....they've been sitting in a huge zip lock bag for over a year.

Can't wait till you've finished your design. I mite pull mine back out and get started again.
