"pretty pairings II" ~ a fq bundle giveaway

This just never gets old ... being asked to put together a Blogger's Bundle of my favourite fat quarters.  This is the third time Pink Castle Fabrics has asked me to make one and it's definitely my best yet.  (Says me.)

Because I enjoy making small, quick projects with just 2 fabrics, I decided to choose another eight pairs if coordinating prints.  They are almost all designed by my beloved Japanese fabric companies - Lecien, Yuma, Kokka, etc.  They're fun, whimical, pretty, the scale is small ... makes my heart fabric-loving heart go pitter-patter.

My approach was to pick a whimsical print with a smaller coordinate.  I was particularly drawn to the Liberty-esque florals that I love so much.

This pair - of Lecien's Flower Sugar reinvented as a tea party and a newspaper print - makes me giggle a bit.  I was thinking it'd be fun to read the morning paper (or iPad/blogs) while enjoying a cup of tea.  When my daughter saw the tea party fabric, she begged me to please make her an apron out of it.  Excellent - one Christmas gift idea solved. :)

Cute little kawaii red riding hood kittens!!!

This faux patchwork is perfect for pencil cases and such, but I also thought the squares would be fun to fussy-cut and made into labels for larger projects.

Don't you just love charming translations from Japanese to English?  The above fabric reads, "I love the sweet cake and donut."  And below, "It is loved by everyone beyond the time."

Cute, cute, cute.

This bundle is available for purchase here.  FYI, stock is limited and the last few bundles I made for Pink Castle Fabrics sold out in about a week so if you don't want to be disappointed ...

But if you'd also like a chance to win it, please leave me a comment telling me if you've started on your Christmas sewing and if so, what you are making.  This giveaway closes Sunday, November 9th and is open to all!

PS:  If you're not doing any sewing for Christmas, that's ok.  You can still enter. :)

I am finishing 9 quilted frogs for the little ones, 3 left to go. For the bigger projects I've got one twin size quilt done, one double size quilt top made, one twin size top made and one eye spy quilt almost ready to bind. Wow, when it's put down on the screen it makes me wonder if all will get done in time. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I just finished some Christmas stocking that will be donated to the local women's shelter through my quilt guild. I plan to get some place-mats sewn up to be donated to Meals on Wheels. I had hoped to make each of my sons a quilt for Christmas, but I'm afraid it will be for 2015!

I haven't got any Christmas sewing started yet, but I plan to start a hexie tree skirt for our tree downstairs soon. I know it won't be ready this year, but that is the joy. I will have a longer project to take me through this winter.
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered Commenterhannah f.
Yes, I've started - bought all the fabric and decided on what I'm making, just have to get to work sewing! Right now it's a Christmas tree skirt for daughter #2 - have to have it ready by Thanksgiving for her to use it this year!

November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterLisa
No Christmas sewing for me. I'd rather move into January with snowflakes and snowmen!
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterSusan
I am planning on sewing gifts for Christmas, possibly coin purses. I think anybody can use those. Thank you!
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterDanette
Pretty pairings indeed! They are just lovely. You surely have an artist's eye. I am working on bags, have finished a quilted jacket for my granddaughter, and have pillow cases (7) to get started on. Then doll clothes for three granddaughters, a table runner for my mother and maybe work at quilting and binding last years Christmas quilt. I better get off the net and get busy! Thanks for another lovely give away and as always lots of inspiration.
November 3, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterMarilyn
I'm not planning any sewn gifts this year...yet. Sometimes I see projects during the season that I cannot resist though like a certain bloggers gift tags :-) I do have a little winterish table topper that I'd like to finish up to use this winter though. Maybe it will even happen.
